Waterweek

April 9th – 15th

Something for everyone; art, music, children’s workshops, walks, talks and stream cleans all bringing attention to our local water; its sources, streams and river, the channels it carves through our landscape, it’s myths and folklore, history, nature and pollution

Diplocks stream is an ancient waterway that lies between The Diplocks housing estate and Diplocks Way Industrial estate. It flows into the Cuckmere River and then into Arlington Reservoir and some of it will become our drinking water.

The stream and surrounding area is polluted by run off and dumped rubbish. We want to make the area better for the water, wildlife and the people who live and work nearby so have been organising stream clean ups over the last year. Although the area is looking clearer there is still much to do so Waterweek2022streaming will be a continuation of the stream clean ups plus a packed week of other fun creative and educational events for everyone.
